Nathan is constantly moving. He easily rolls in every direction, enjoys standing up and could probably sit by himself if he weren't so wiggly and eager to move. Nathan absolutely loves watching Nicholas. His eyes will follow him no matter where he is in the room. Nicholas is such a sweet and caring older brother. He loves going upstairs with me in the mornings to get Nathan out of the crib. Of course when Nathan sees him, he starts kicking like crazy.
A few weeks ago Nathan started to say some sounds, including "ma" "na" and "da". Of course I'm claiming his first word is mama. I love hearing him "talk."
Around 5 months, we progressed from rice cereal to baby food. So far there isn't any food he doesn't like (including green beans). He usually gives us a funny expression after the first bite, but soon after is grunting and kicking, eager for us to give him more. Nathan still nurses well, which I'm very pleased with. We will probably start giving him cereal in the mornings and just continue the baby food at night. We haven't tried giving him water, so we will have to see what he thinks of that.
Who needs carrots when you can chew on your toes?
As far as sleeping, for the past several weeks, Nathan will usually sleep from 7-8pm until 7-8am. Nathan takes great naps during the day. Usually two that totals around 3 hours, but sometimes longer. His nights were briefly disrupted just this week probably due to the bottom two central incisors he cut on Wednesday. It also seemed that he was a bit congested this week with some bloodshot eyes (I guessed pinkeye, but I'm not 100% sure because it cleared up pretty quickly). It always seems that one of us gets sick after going to a well visit checkup. Luckily he won't have to go again until he is 9 months old. Nicholas is clear to not go back until he is 7, since he is doing so well.
You can barely see the two white specs, but they are there!
Happy 6 months Nathan!
